A new analysis prepared by Strategen for the Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA) demonstrates that batteries can cost-effectively replace aging fossil-fueled speakers. The analysis focuses on Maine, where the Governor’s Energy Office is currently designing a 200-MW energy storage procurement process. However, the results, which are primarily based on regional energy capacity market revenue opportunities, are applicable throughout New England and should help inform peaker replacement initiatives in other regions as well. In this CESA webinar, report author Eliasid Animas from Strategen will discuss the methodology and analysis findings. He will be joined by contributing editor Todd Olinsky-Paul from CESA. Following the presentation, they will address questions from the audience.
Read MoreAs the nation sees an uptick in the adoption of electric heating technologies driven by consumer trends, energy policies, and incentive programs, there is a growing need for states to ensure utility ratepayer funds are spent on infrastructure investments that consider the future of gas. In this webinar discussion, using case studies out of the Midwest in Michigan and Illinois as a lens, Advanced Energy United and a panel of experts will explore how states can best analyze the evolving trends and outlook of the natural gas system in order to both protect consumers from rising costs and pave the path for investment in energy innovation.
Read MoreA new analysis, conducted for the Ohio River Valley Institute, found that the implementation of strategies outlined in a new industrial decarbonization roadmap would result in a remarkable 84% reduction in carbon emissions by 2050 in Pennsylvania. This achievement would not only help meet crucial climate goals but also lead to substantial annual savings, job growth, and improved public health. Join us for ORVI's upcoming webinar, "A Roadmap for Industrial Decarbonization in Pennsylvania," where our panelists will delve into the analysis.
Read MoreDue to its abundance of fossil fuel resources, southwestern Pennsylvania has a long history of substantial energy production, often at the expense of local environmental quality and economic diversity. A new report, produced by Strategen for the Ohio River Valley Institute, offers a new decarbonization pathway for the 10-county region, which would advance the local economy, boost employment, and reduce harmful, climate-warming emissions more effectively and at a lower cost than other pathways. This webinar was on December 12, 2022.
Read MoreThis webinar on September 13, 2022 from 9:00-10:30 AM PT aims to provide a platform to discuss and analyze the potential for green hydrogen (GH2) to rapidly displace fossil fuel use in industrialized economies, supported by the global decarbonization imperative and accelerated by skyrocketing prices for fossil fuels and energy security vulnerabilities. The varied use cases for GH2 to drive multi-sectoral decarbonization will also inform this segment.
