+ Clean Energy Roadmaps

Achieving 100% reliable, affordable clean energy requires thoughtful policy and regulatory solutions. Governments around the world have committed to transitioning to a carbon-free electric portfolio, but by and large, jurisdictions are still exploring the best way to achieve this transition. Emerging technologies, such as long-duration energy storage and green hydrogen, will be critical to cost-effective attainment of these goals.

Approach:
+ Establish clear vision for pathway to 100% clean energy
+ Achieve buy-in from key stakeholders
+ Modeling and analytics to support transition planning
+ Technology and business-model neutral approach
+ Regional and jurisdiction specific recommendations

+ Gas Sector Decarbonization with Green Hydrogen

Green hydrogen is critical to decarbonizing energy systems. Strategen works with utilities, developers and NGO’s to help them overcome barriers and incorporate green hydrogen into the existing natural gas network.

Approach:
+ Understand policy and technical barriers to green hydrogen injection and blending in natural gas systems
+ Educate and manage diverse stakeholders on the need for gas sector decarbonization with green hydrogen
+ Develop policy, regulatory, and RD&D recommendations

+ Energy System Resiliency

In an era of more frequent and severe weather-related disasters, energy system resiliency is top of mind. In the next 5-20 years, many jurisdictions are seeking to electrify systems such as transportation and building heating that have traditionally been decoupled from the grid. Strategen can help clients assess their electricity system resiliency today and in the future and develop strategies to increase their resiliency that are cost-effective, low carbon, and equitable.

Approach:
+ Identify threats and vulnerabilities of the electric system infrastructure today and in the future.
+ Develop risk assessment frameworks to prioritize critical loads and protect communities
+ Perform system modeling to pinpoint vulnerable areas on the grid
+ Develop recommendations to increase electrification resilience, from technology assessment to rate design.
